Fliers want Wi-Fi, no-kidzones

Mumbai: If a recent survey of airline passengers in the country is to be heeded, Internet connectivity and a child-free zone are their top two priorities.
The survey, conducted by a website, with a sample of around 2,300, solicited opinions from both domestic and international passengers.
About 60 per cent of those quizzed desired Internet connection on board, at par with international airlines.
You can attribute that to the continual engagement with technology, through one or the other smart device everyone seems to possess.
"We found that passengers don't want to get offline. They remain attached with their smart phones and laptops, but as soon as they board a flight they become handicapped.
A section of passengers travelling for business purposes wants to use their time aboard instead of sitting quietly," said Sharat Dhall, managing director of the online portal which conducted the survey.
The second most prominent demand is that passengers want a child free zone. "About 22 percent of passengers recommended a child free zone. In the long haul, the noise made by children is disturbing during sleep, or even when passengers are awake," added Dhall.
